Indian batsmen make merry on final warm-up day

India enjoyed a fruitful outing at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Moratuwa as batsmen and bowlers reaped rich rewards in the @L0$ against Sri Lanka Board President's XI.

After having @L1$ on the opening day, the batsmen made merry in the last four sessions of the match. Barring Abhinav Mukund, who was bowled for a first ball duck, and Cheteshwar Pujara (12), all the other top order batsmen got starts.

While @L2$ was trapped LBW by Vikum Sanjaya after having scored a quickfire half century on Friday (July 21), @L3$ (53), @L4$ (40), @L5$ (38) and @L6$ (41) retired out after spending quality time in the middle. All of them scored at a strike rate of over 65, with Rohit tonking a couple of sixes.

The first strike of the day by a bowler came in the 58th over of the innings, when Hardik Pandya was dismissed by Tharindu Kaushal for a 13-ball 11. Captains shook hands 10 overs later, right after Kaushal bagged his second wicket of the innings by having Ravindra Jadeja stumped on 18.

Wriddhiman Saha remained unbeaten on a 40-ball 36 as India ended up scoring 312 for 9 – with four batsmen getting retired out.
